Mr. Christopher (Chris) Aadnesen is Executive Chairman of Georgetown Rail Equipment Company. Mr. Aadnesen has had nearly 45 years of both national and international experience in the railroad industry. Prior to assuming his current role at GREX in 2013, Mr. Aadnesen was President and CEO of Alaska Railroad Corporation. He has been on the GREX board since 2002 and served as Chairman since 2007. He was Vice President, National Freight Rail Services for HNTB Corporation, Austin, Texas, from 2007 - 2010. From 2004 to 2007, Chris served as CEO, Managing Director, and the Chairman of Management Board of Estonian Railways, LTD., Tallinn, Estonia. From 1996 – 2000, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana (TFM) in Mexico City and Monterrey, Mexico; and concurrently Acting President for Texas Mexican Railway Company, Laredo, Texas. In 1995, he co-founded a transportation and general business consulting practice in central Texas called The Capital City Group, where he remains as President and Principal. Chris spent nearly 25 years with UPRR finally as Senior AVP-Transportation in Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Aadnesen has served or continues to serve on numerous national and international boards including Alaska Sea Life Center, Seward, Alaska; Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies, Brussels, Belgium; Association of American Railroads, Washington D.C.; Cimarron Hills Golf and Country Club, Georgetown, Texas; Palace Theatre, Georgetown, Texas; Chairman, Planning and Zoning Commission, Georgetown, Texas; Alaska Regional Export Council, Anchorage, Alaska and Loram Holdings, Inc. in Hamel, Minnesota. Furthermore, Mr. Aadnesen holds B.A and M.B.A Degrees from University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah and various other professional (PMD and MPE) certifications from the Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, respectively.

Mr. Wiggie Shell joined Georgetown Rail Equipment Company (GREX) in 1998 as Director of Mechanical and Safety shortly after the equipment company split from Georgetown Railroad Company. During the twenty-one years he was at the railroad he had held various positions, including managing a fleet of over seventeen hundred railcars and supervising the construction of the original DumpTrain and Slot Machine.

Mr. Shell served as Vice President of GREX’s Operations for eight years before he was elected President and CEO of Georgetown Rail Equipment Company in 2009. He currently serves on the GREX Board of Directors.

In December 2015 Wiggie Shell was elected to serve on the NRC Board of Directors. The board of the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association works closely with government and business leaders to promote and protect rail contractors and suppliers.



Gregory Grissom, GREX Chief Operating Officer

Gregory “Greg” T. Grissom, P.E.

Greg has seventeen years of experience in various roles related to railroad design, rail technology applications, and railway engineering research. Mr. Grissom serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Customer Delivery for Georgetown Rail Equipment Company overseeing Operations, Sales/Marketing and Engineering/R&D. In previous roles, Greg was HNTB's Union Pacific Client Service Leader and Project Manager on several key rail design projects including several high speed rail initiatives. Greg also served at Zeta-Tech Associates, where he was involved in numerous rail research projects, field studies, and software applications for the rail industry. Greg is formerly Chairman of AREMA Committee 30, Ties, and is a licensed professional engineer in four states: Illinois, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Texas. He holds a Bachelors and Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware where he studied railway engineering under the late Dr. Arnold Kerr. In 2013, Grissom was named one of Progressive Railroading’s “rising stars,” recognizing 20 top performers under 40 years of age with notable contributions to the rail industry.



Joan Maier, GREX Senior Vice President & CFO

Ms. Maier is the Senior Vice President and CFO of Georgetown Rail Equipment Company. She joined GREX in 1992 and developed the financial department of the company. From 1991 to 1992 Ms. Maier was associated with Kilo-Wate, a company founded by Mr. Ned Snead to market a computerized conveyor weighing system for crushed stone. Ms. Maier graduated from Southwestern University with a BA and with an MBA from St. Edward’s University in Austin. She is a CPA and CGMA with memberships in the AICPA, TSCPA and Delta Mu Delta (National Honor Society in Business Administration), Beta Kappa Chapter. She has served as Board Secretary of the Executive Committee for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Board and currently serves on the Georgetown Health Foundation Board as Finance Chair as well as the Finance Committee of First Baptist Church in Georgetown. Ms. Maier is an Assistant Corporate Secretary for Georgetown Rail Equipment Company.



Nathan Bachman, GREX Vice President of Marketing & Sales

Vice President of Marketing & Sales

Nate Bachman is the Vice President of Marketing and Sales since October 2014. Prior to that he served as VP Operations since January of 2010. Mr. Bachman joined Georgetown Rail Equipment Company in 2007 as Market Development Manager and was promoted to Service Planning Director in 2008. Previously, he was sales and account executive from 1999 to 2007 with Alltel Communications Products and Polycom, a manufacturer of wireless and conferencing technology. Mr. Bachman was employed with Norfolk Southern Railway from 1998 to 1999, a class 1 railroad company. He holds a B.A. in Public Relations and a Master Degree from Texas A&M in Industrial Distribution.

In September 2016 Mr. Bachman was elected to serve on the REMSA Board of Directors. REMSA, the Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association is a nonprofit membership-based organization located in Washington, D.C., that represents and promotes companies and individuals who manufacture or sell products and/or services in the railroad maintenance of way industry.



Todd Euston, GREX Vice President Engineering

Mr. Euston has worked in the railway industry for 17 years, including university research, consulting, and industry service supplier. His areas of expertise include track analysis, railroad data management systems, and inspection technology development. Prior to his assignment as Vice President Engineering he served as Director of Inspection Technology for Georgetown Rail, where he extended existing and developed new technology for inspection of railroad track, and worked with railroads to maximize value of inspection data and information for maintenance and planning programs. During his career he has worked with North American and international clients on rail inspection, rail grinding, rail life modeling, and track geometry, and developed software applications for data analysis and maintenance management.

Mr. Euston earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware where he studied railway engineering under the late Dr. Arnold Kerr. He is a member of AREMA Committee 2 for Track Measurement and Assessment Systems, and is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania.



Shawnda Ewing, GREX Vice President of Human Resources

Mrs. Ewing is the Vice President of Human Resources at Georgetown Rail Equipment Company. She joined the company in 2008 as a part-time Human Resources Assistant and Recruiter, and was later promoted from Manager to Human Resource Director in 2013. Prior to GREX she was a Corporate Recruiter for the Semiconductor industry and a Contract Recruiter for various other industries. Mrs. Ewing graduated from Hawaii Pacific University with a BSBA in Human Resources Management, and in 2009 obtained her PHR with memberships in SHRM and WilCoHR. Mrs. Ewing volunteers with various organizations within her community.



Jeffrey Stone, GREX Vice President of Safety & Operations

Vice President of Safety and Operations

Mr. Stone is the Vice President of Operations of Georgetown Rail Equipment Company, and has been the Vice President of Operations and Safety since 2010. Mr. Stone joined Georgetown Rail Equipment Company in 1996 and has held numerous positions within the Company which include: Dump Train Operator, Slot Train operator, Service Planner and Director Mechanical and Safety. Prior to joining GREX he worked at Georgetown Railroad in mechanical and DumpTrain departments. Mr. Stone also serves on the board for the local school district in his community.
